Rachel Wood is known for creating ceramic work with a strong sense of personality, texture, and depth. This workshop is an invitation to explore the expressive possibilities of hand-building with clay. You will learn traditional pinching and coiling techniques, while Rachel shares her unique approach to creating rich, layered surfaces through slips, glazes, textures, and mark making.

Through playful experimentation, you’ll discover how clay can be shaped, textured, and transformed to create pieces full of character and depth. You’ll work with test tiles to explore different surface techniques and see how they develop after firing, giving you ideas to take into your own larger pieces.

Throughout the workshop, Rachel offers individual guidance and encourages you to experiment, develop your own ideas, and discover your personal approach to working with clay.
