Level: intermediate to advanced.

Type of Kiln: This depends on the weather.  If the environment is too dry, firing a wood kiln is too dangerous. Instead, a gas kiln will then be fired.

Starts in the evening of 1ste of May until the morning of May 9, 2027.
The Ceramic Course is priced at €1160. To secure your spot, a €200 advance payment is required upon registration.

This week is designed for experienced potters who want to further develop their own ideas and forms. You bring your own project and decide what you would like to work on during the week. This could be plates, cups, bottles, bowls, or other forms that you would like to learn to throw more confidently and efficiently.

The week is guided by Frank Theunissen, who has many years of experience as a production potter. He is happy to help you with throwing tableware and series, and to share the tricks and techniques of production throwing. Throughout the week, Frank will give demonstrations and provide individual guidance

A good foundation in wheel throwing is important, as you will be working independently on your own project. Frank will give you plenty of freedom to develop your own ideas. He will not necessarily be present in the studio at all times, so don’t hesitate to ask when you need help or advice. If you run into a problem or are unsure how to approach a particular form, ask Frank. He will be happy to think along with you and show you the technical possibilities.

Please note: large-scale throwing is not possible during this week. We will focus on small and medium-sized forms that can be made and fired within the available facilities and time frame.
